Sydney Outage
Update - This fault is resolved as of 02:40 AM
Shortly after 01:15 this morning, an outage occurred within the Global Switch data centre in Sydney, Australia.
Although outside of our own network, the fault caused connectivity issues for any of our servers located in the data centre. Affected end-user services included dialup, ISDN, ADSL, email and web hosting.
We have been advised that the fault was due to software and data corruption within the router sub system of the centre. A faulty route processor (and associated storage) has been replaced, and a backup configuration has been reloaded.
There will be some follow up work carried out between 06:00 and 06:30 this morning to complete the repair. There may be some associated intermittent disruptions during that period.

tamworth.servers121.com
Update - This fault is resolved as of 9:50 AM
Shortly after 9:30 AM this morning, one of our hosting servers (Tamworth) became unreachable. All our other servers in that particular cluster were running at 100%, so that suggested a physical fault with either the server itself or the immediately upstream network.
To be safe, we had a remote hands technician attend the data centre in Sydney, but the server became reachable shortly before he arrived at 9:50 AM. The server logs show Tamworth to have been running perfectly at all times during the outage, so the issue was clearly related to the upstream network. We haven't yet received a full report from the affected network, but we'll follow up on that for our own internal records.
This outage affected only web hosting clients with a domain hosted on the ip range 118.127.0.34 through to 118.127.0.37

Victoria and NSW, Optic Fibre
Update - This fault is resolved as of June 27, 11:50 PM
Some areas of Victoria and NSW are experiencing connection problems due to an optic fibre which has been physically severed near Canberra. Carriers are using a backup line which is unable to carry the full normal daily load.
Until the primary cable is repaired, affected areas will need to redial multiple times to obtain a line to their local POP.
The latest advice received is that additional heavy machinery is required at the site of the cable cut. The estimated time of repair is now being stated as being between midnight tonight and 2:30 AM tomorrow morning.

USA Connectivity
Update - This fault is resolved as of April 30, 05:15 PM
There is currently an external outage effective between the Soul/TPG network in Australia and the twtelecom (Time Warner Telecom) network in USA.
This is causing connectivity failures to several USA locations for a small number of Australian based dialup clients.
Hosting clients on Australian dialup connections may have issues reaching their servers until the external routing problem is rectified, although their sites and servers are all running without issue. All our USA servers are reachable from almost all Australian and other international locations. All our Australian servers are obviously unaffected.
We have been in contact with the networks involved, and they have confirmed that they are working on the issue. They have not advised the nature of the fault. They have not provided an ETR for correction.

Bendigo, Victoria Outage
Update - This fault is resolved as of March 30, 05:00 AM
Telstra and Soul have advised that they are currently conducting unscheduled emergency work on the Bendigo POP. All dialup connections routed via Bendigo will fail until the work is complete.
This outage affects only dialup access clients with a 0354 telephone prefix and connecting to GCom's Australian network via the Bendigo POP in Victoria.
The work commenced shortly after 08:30 PM this evening, and is expected to be completed by 07:00 AM tomorrow morning.

Sydney Outage
Update - This fault is resolved as of December 26, 11:00 AM
There is currently an outage in the independent WCG network in Sydney, Australia.
This is causing packets travelling to our Radius servers to be lost, resulting in logon authentication failures for some dialup, ISDN and ADSL users in certain areas.
We have been in contact with WCG who have confirmed that they are working on the issue. They have advised that the fault has been caused by a physical hadware failure. They have not provided an ETR for correction.
